How I Work

My approach to counseling is one that is collaborative, nurturing, explorative, and allows you space to feel safe and supported. I offer a compassionate, non-directed, non-judgmental space that allows clients to gain more self-confidence, a stronger sense of identity, and the ability to explore parts of your life that might be creating tension and pain.

What will sessions be like?

Therapy is a relationship that is built on trust and collaboration. Our initial sessions will be used building a connection and getting to know one another. Once that is established and you feel ready, we will dive in with what brought you to therapy. My work is client centered, this method allows each client the competence to build awareness and the ability to tease out and build understanding and power around their thoughts, feelings, emotions, in order to create the foundation of personal understanding, fulfillment, and lasting change. Therapy encompasses the whole spectrum of experiences and emotion. There might be challenging moments of discomfort, pain and tears, but also those triumphant AHA! moments, laughter, deep understanding, and relief.

Areas of Focus

My direct focus in my practice is young adults and adult trauma using EMDR. Please click the links above to explore these specialties further.

While I focus on adult trauma and the challenges of young emerging adults - in part because I believe there is power in a more singular focus - I work with many other clients including teens. I feel just as inspired  and passionate helping a wide range of audiences. Below are some issues I also work with. Please reach out and we can discuss how I might be able to support you or your teen.

  • Teens (14-18)

  • Grief

  • Anxiety

  • Interpersonal Relationships

  • Life Transitions

  • Breakups and Divorce
